Position Overview

The Media Replay Operator I – Studio Operations role is a critical component of arenaflex’s Studio Tasks Sports division. In this remote position, you will coordinate, record, edit, and playback server‑based media assets for both live and pre‑recorded productions. You will ensure that every replay, highlight, and on‑air segment meets arenaflex’s exacting standards for video and audio quality. This role operates in a fast‑moving environment, supporting a diverse slate of studio shows, special events, and breaking‑news coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Server Content Management: Operate and maintain broadcast hardware and software within assigned production zones, including the ingestion, storage, and playback of all server‑based media used during studio productions.
  • Replay Editing & Playback: Apply advanced editing techniques to create instant replays, slow‑motion sequences, and non‑linear graphics, ensuring seamless integration with live feeds.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor audio and video signals against arenaflex’s broadcast standards, performing meticulous quality checks to guarantee flawless on‑air delivery.
  • Technical Documentation & Training: Develop and update training materials for new team members, and provide on‑the‑job guidance to ensure consistent operational excellence.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training programs (in‑person, virtual, or hybrid) to stay current with evolving equipment, software, and workflow enhancements.
  • Signal Flow Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of plant signal routing and control, troubleshooting issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Special Event Support: Contribute to high‑profile events and special productions as needed, adapting to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, graphics, and editorial teams to align media assets with overall broadcast objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement best practices that elevate the overall production workflow.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years hands‑on experience in television production or a closely related field at a large‑market or network level.
  • Comprehensive understanding of broadcast hardware and software, including video production switchers, server‑based recording/playback systems, control consoles, audio mixers, and signal conversion equipment.
  • Flexibility to work late shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by live event schedules.
  • Proven ability to thrive under tight deadlines, work independently, and lead collaborative projects.
  • Strong grasp of production workflows across multiple departments, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (arenaflex, arenaflex, arenaflex, arenaflex) and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent; additional education is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Formal training or certification in Broadcast Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with broadcast communications equipment and remote production workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service to internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with advanced editing software, graphics packages, and automation systems.
  • Track record of mentoring junior staff and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
