Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a visionary senior executive to lead the Global Adversarial Abuse & Analytics function. This remote, work‑from‑home role combines strategic oversight, data‑driven analysis, and cross‑functional partnership to combat malicious activity across the platform. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Trust & Safety, you will shape policy, build scalable detection systems, and guide a world‑class team of analysts, engineers, and product partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a multi‑year roadmap for adversarial abuse detection, mitigation, and reporting, aligning with arenaflex’s broader Trust & Safety objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead a global team of 30+ specialists, including data analysts, ML engineers, risk investigators, and policy experts. Foster a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and high performance.
  • Risk Identification & Response: Oversee real‑time monitoring of emerging abuse patterns (e.g., account takeover, spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior) and coordinate rapid response initiatives.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling: Partner with Product and Engineering to design robust data pipelines, feature stores, and machine‑learning models that surface abusive behavior at scale.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, Public Policy, and Global Operations to translate analytical insights into actionable product changes and policy updates.
  • Reporting & Transparency: Produce clear, data‑rich transparency reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring compliance with regional privacy and safety standards.
  • Incident Management: Lead on‑call rotations and weekend escalation protocols, providing decisive guidance during high‑impact abuse incidents.
  • Innovation & Research: Champion research initiatives that explore novel detection techniques, including generative AI threats, deep‑fake content, and coordinated misinformation campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present strategic findings and recommendations to senior leadership, board members, and external partners, translating complex data into compelling narratives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading risk‑mitigation or abuse‑prevention programs at scale, preferably within a large‑tech or social‑media environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying large‑scale data pipelines, statistical models, and machine‑learning classifiers for anomaly detection.
  • Strong analytical background with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience analyzing massive datasets to uncover patterns of malicious activity.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or MATLAB for data extraction, transformation, and statistical analysis.
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional partners and drive consensus across product, engineering, legal, and policy teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a track record of building high‑performing, diverse teams.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekend on‑call rotations, to support a 24/7 global operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Experience with adversarial machine learning, generative AI threats, or deep‑fake detection.
  • Background in public policy, law, or ethics related to online safety and content moderation.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and experience delivering transparency reports to regulators.
  • Prior experience in a senior director or equivalent leadership role within a fast‑growing technology company.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to translate raw data into actionable insights, using statistical techniques and machine‑learning concepts.
  • Strategic Vision: Forward‑thinking mindset that anticipates emerging threats and proactively designs mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to build bridges across engineering, product, legal, and policy teams.
  • Leadership: Experience coaching, mentoring, and scaling high‑performing teams in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Communication: Clear, concise storytelling for both technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive briefings and public reports.
  • Adaptability: Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment where priorities shift rapidly.
  • Ethical Judgment: Deep commitment to user safety, privacy, and the responsible use of data.

At arenaflex, senior leaders are empowered to shape the future of a platform used by billions. In this role you will:

  • Gain visibility with the C‑suite and influence company‑wide safety strategy.
  • Lead cross‑regional initiatives that impact policy, product design, and global compliance.
  • Access a dedicated budget for research, conferences, and advanced training in AI safety and data ethics.
