The position requires administration of chemotherapy, including continuous infusion and oral administration. Monitoring of chemotherapy patients is essential. Experience with blood and blood product administration and care management of ports is necessary. Candidates should be knowledgeable about central line and implanted line care. Management of acute tumor lysis syndrome and anaphylaxis is part of the responsibilities. Knowledge of complications such as extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression is expected. Care tasks may include managing chest tubes and neutropenic precautions. Candidates should be able to address altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy. Previous charge experience is required. Experience with various charting systems is necessary. Additional interdisciplinary support may be provided.
