We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Teaching Technology Specialist to join our Online Campus team at Southern Adventist University. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance the learning experience for our students.

Job Summary:

The Teaching Technology Specialist will work closely with our Online Campus Director, Teaching Technology Manager, and IT department to design and implement programs and resources that improve and facilitate online and face-to-face learning. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your technical expertise and passion for education to make a meaningful impact on our students' academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Teaching Technology Manager to develop solutions to issues arising between Moodle (eClass) and Ellucian Colleague
• Maintain and administer Moodle (eClass) and implement a badging platform integrated with Moodle (eClass)
• Develop and maintain customized tech support tools to meet the technical needs of students
• Work with IT to improve the Attendance Tracking System platform and other online tools
• Provide consulting services to faculty on instructional design and course development strategies
• Conduct technology training and explore new technologies to enhance learning experiences

Requirements:

• Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Experience with coding and programming, as well as web and software development technology tools (e.g., GitHub, Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, MySQL, HTML5)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and an Adventist church member in good and regular standing
