Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our property management team and take ownership of our financial operations. This unique role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by streamlining and organizing financial processes, then transitioning into ongoing monthly financial management. You’ll work with cutting-edge property management software and be instrumental in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The position starts as full-time to complete essential cleanup work, then transitions to part-time for ongoing maintenance, providing excellent work-life balance and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive accounts payable and receivable operations for multiple properties
• Lead a strategic financial cleanup project to organize and reconcile records from the past six months
• Perform monthly financial maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting tasks
• Utilize AppFolio property management software for all financial transactions and comprehensive reporting
• Ensure all accounts are properly cleared, balanced, and maintained to the highest standards
• Establish and maintain ongoing financial organization systems for long-term efficiency
• Collaborate with management to implement best practices for financial record-keeping

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with AppFolio property management software (essential requirement)
• Proven bookkeeping background with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Property management industry experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex financial cleanup projects
• Excellent organizational skills for account reconciliation and systematic file management
• Availability to work during Pacific Standard Time business hours (8 AM - 5 PM PST)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely with a collaborative team
• Flexibility to start full-time and transition to part-time as project phases complete
