Skills • Accounting or Finance degree (Master’s or CPA is a plus) • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role • Solid understanding of month-end close, GAAP, and FASB • Strong financial knowledge in budgeting and cost control • Problem-solving skills with a data-driven decision-making approach • Integrity and professionalism with a strong work ethic • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced accounting software • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to thrive in a remote environment and manage deadlines effectively Responsibilities • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and taxes • Manage daily tasks such as bill payments, invoicing, payroll, and maintaining financial records • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness • Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain strong relationships with GAAP and FASB • Analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness • Partner with external auditors for seamless audit experiences • Develop and implement financial controls and guidelines • Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control procedures • Identify areas for improvement and propose operational changes to enhance efficiency Qualifications • Accounting or Finance degree (Master’s or CPA is a plus) • At least 5 years of experience in senior accounting or financial management roles • Strong understanding of month-end close, GAAP, and FASB • Excellent budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis skills • Proven ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions • High level of integrity and professionalism • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced accounting software • Exceptional communication skills Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Master’s degree or CPA is preferred but not required Education Requirements Credential Category • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s or CPA preferred Experience Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior accounting or financial management • Proven experience in managing accounting functions and teams Why work in Columbia, MD Columbia, MD is a vibrant community known for its strong sense of community, diverse neighborhoods, and excellent quality of life.
