Responsibilities Conduct independent examinations of complex estate and gift tax returns. , Determine issues and audit techniques needed to resolve tax issues. , Analyze transactions and evaluate the fair market value of various assets. , Conduct extensive legal research and analyze taxpayer legal documents. , Coordinate with SBSE Counsel to develop audit techniques and litigation strategies. , Assist in trial preparation for significant estate and gift tax cases. , Identify emerging issues and collaborate with SBSE Counsel to address them. Requirements Knowledge of legal industry practices, federal codes, and regulations related to tax administration. , Experience in a legal environment providing technical advice on legal requirements and conducting legal research. , Ability to draft legal opinions and decisions on federal tax laws and regulations. , Substantive knowledge of state and federal laws, judicial decisions, and legal instruments specific to tax compliance. Nice-to-haves Experience with Federal, Gift, and Generation-Skipping Transfer tax laws. , Advanced legal research skills in complex tax matters. , Ability to negotiate with representatives on tax issues.
