Embedded Software Development Engineer (Avionics)
About Description Acara Solutions has been providing our staffing services to aerospace firms national for over 65 years. Our Prescott, AZ aerospace manufacturer has a Software Development Engineer opening. This is a salaried direct onsite position with them. The salary range is $140k to $150k. This is a mid-level position requiring aerospace or audio product experience. DO-178B/C software certification standards experience is required. The Software Engineer designs and implements real-time embedded software for company products, including software defined radios, navigation & communication radios, airborne servers, audio products and other similar products. This includes software design, coding, debugging, test and verification, documentation, and support of certification activities. It may include development of low-level drivers and real time embedded applications. It may also include development of customer facing application software used to configure company's avionics products. Reports to the Software Design Engineering Manager. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: BSCS, BSEE, or other applicable engineering degree
- Min 7 years of embedded software engineering experience with a
minimum of 4 years of experience within an aerospace organization or 3 years of radio/audio product software development experience.
- Min 2 years of experience with
DO-178B/C (required) In addition to the min 5 years of the above experience, the candidate should have the majority of the following: Basic knowledge of Architecture/Design/Development of Real Time embedded software Basic knowledge of design assurance level partitioning for safety critical systems Proficient knowledge of real time operating system (RTOS) Proficient knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor Proficient knowledge in development of PC applications Proficient knowledge in development of Real Time embedded software Proficient knowledge in development of device driver software Proficient knowledge in software verification Experience with C/C++/C# Experience with Python and other scripting languages This is an ITAR facility, U.S. Persons Required (Green Card ok) Preferred Skills / Qualifications: 5+ years of avionics electronics development experience Experience with Software Defined Radio and Audio product development Expertise with Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, In-Circuit Emulators, J-TAG debuggers MS Windows Application development experience in C#/Forms/WPF Experience with Linux Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
