Physician - Asynchronous Clinical Care

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

The Physician will play a crucial role in providing asynchronous clinical care to patients seeking assessment and treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) through our innovative digital platform. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, efficient care through a "store-and-forward" model, enabling patients to receive timely diagnoses and treatment plans without the need for in-person visits. Responsibilities: • Review Digital Clinical Interviews: • Evaluate comprehensive digital clinical interviews completed by patients. • Assess patient information, including snoring severity, daytime somnolence, respiratory issues during sleep, hypertension, height, weight, age, neck circumference, and gender assigned at birth. Screening and Diagnosis: • Utilize a digital algorithm to screen patient data. • Review cases where the algorithm indicates equivocal or positive results. • Conduct additional assessments, including diabetes history and Epsworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) scoring. • Perform an extended clinical interview for confirmed positive screens, covering medical history, medication use, and additional health conditions. Clinical Documentation: • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and assessments in the electronic medical records system. • Synthesize collected data into a clinical note, including diagnoses and treatment plans. • Approve the clinical note and associated prescriptions if the diagnosis is accurate. Treatment Plan Management: • Prescribe automated positive airway pressure (APAP) machines. • Schedule virtual mask fittings and respiratory therapist visits. • Coordinate follow-up telephone meetings with sleep coaches for ongoing patient support. Quality Assurance: • Complete reviews of digital clinical interviews within 36 business hours. • Ensure high-quality care by identifying cases requiring in-person evaluation and redirecting patients as necessary. Qualifications: • MD or DO with Board Certification in a relevant specialty. • Active medical license in one or more states, including but not limited to FL, CA, GA, NY, NJ, MD, VA, IL, and TX. • Experience with telemedicine or asynchronous care preferred. • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. • Commitment to providing culturally appropriate care to a diverse patient population. Benefits: • Flexible scheduling with the option to perform reviews on weekends and holidays. • No requirement to coordinate care beyond initial assessments and prescriptions. • Opportunity to contribute to an innovative model of care that increases access for a large at-risk population. • Potential for expanded roles and responsibilities as the business grows.
