Loan Operations Quality Control Specialist (Remote in Atlanta, GA or Jacksonville, FL)

About the position The Loan Operations Quality Control Specialist at Ameris Bank is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of loan transactions within the IBS Insight operating system. This role involves conducting quality assurance reviews, confirming loan data accuracy, and escalating operational risks to management. The specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of loan processing and documentation, contributing to the overall mission of delivering financial peace of mind to customers. Responsibilities • Conducts quality assurance reviews on booked loan transactions. , • Reviews loan documents to confirm loan data accuracy and compliance with bank policy. , • Ensures timely escalation of operational risks or customer impacts to relevant managers. , • Reviews loans with escrow for accuracy and ensures proper setup on the operating system. , • Reports deficiencies to management and tracks corrections made. , • Ensures accurate bank coding for swap loans, participations, and syndications. , • Conducts root cause analysis to identify weaknesses in processes and reports findings to management. , • Provides updates in regular meetings with Loan Operations, Risk Controls, and Compliance teams. , • Interacts with supervisors and team members regarding loan documentation or procedures. , • Completes training for other Loan Operations staff members as assigned. , • Performs routine tasks for Loan Operations, including review and research. , • Ensures adequate service levels for internal and external customers and addresses all questions or concerns. , • Adheres to Bank Secrecy Act requirements and compliance policies. Requirements • 5 to 7 years of experience in bank loan operations, commercial booking, or related field. , • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred. , • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products. , • Thorough knowledge of standard and non-standard loan products and loan compliance policies. , • Ability to research, analyze, and present findings effectively. , • Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of transactions. Nice-to-haves • Loan documentation and loan processing knowledge is a plus. , • Training and presentation experience is a plus.
