Income Tax Accountant | Bookkeeper
OVERVIEW Looking to hire an individual starting February 10th with income tax and bookkeeping experience to assist in the completion of personal, business, and partnership tax returns during tax season as well as other bookkeeping tasks outside of tax season. CORE POSITION: Accounting Firm - data entry into tax prep software - clearing flags and completing tax return in Drake - organizing paperwork (electronically), ensuring complete files - draft correspondence, communicate with clients - bookkeeping regularly for current clients, and as needed for tax return preparation - handing client estimated tax payments REQUIREMENTS 1. At least one year of experience using Drake for income tax preparation. 2. Incredible attention to detail, and the ability to focus on one thing at a time without surrounding external distractions. 3. Brings best self to this job; has an excellent attitude and leads with yes! 4. Prioritizes client confidentiality and has an inherent understanding of how electronic systems (file sharing platforms, iMessage, etc) work. 5. Takes the initiative to exceed expectations of management and clients. SCHEDULE / STRUCTURE Pretty flexible as long as the job gets done. We are looking for someone that can dedicate 20-30 hours per week during tax seasons and then 10-15 hours per week outside of tax season with potential for that to increase over time if mutually agreed upon. IN-PERSON STATUS We're based in San Diego! However, candidate does not need to be in any particular part of the United States. Would work from home. COMPENSATION Pretty flexible based on experience and expectations; hrs per week also flexible but if starting part time would love a candidate willing to grow into full-time in the future. ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING FIRM You'd be working on a very small team where communication, new ideas, and improvement are always encouraged!
