Weekend Host and Programming Assistant, WRR

KERA is looking for a part-time Weekend Host and Programming Assistant to join the dynamic team at WRR – the classical station serving North Texas and the second-oldest operating radio station in the country. POSITION SUMMARY: The host will be responsible for creating a compelling weekend show that creates a sense of place, connecting the music we play to our audience in North Texas. They will have an extensive knowledge of the artists and music played on WRR, helping to strengthen the musical identity of the station. The host’s main responsibilities will include hosting weekend air shifts and filling in for other shifts as needed. This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt, and hours will not exceed 32 hours per week on average. The position reports directly to the WRR Assistant Program Director. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Host live and voice-tracked programming for a variety of weekend shifts Fill in on an as-needed basis during weekdays and evenings Work closely with the WRR Music Director and Assistant Program Director to edit and input music and program audio to expand the WRR music library on the ENCO automation system.
