Insurance Customer Service Representative

Basic Function: This position is responsible for providing information to the customers and to respond to their product and service related inquiries. They will provide customer support by responding to requests for information regarding policies, beneficiaries, etc. This position must present a quality, professional image for First Community Bank and have the ability and desire to develop and... maintain quality customer relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Deliver consistent, high-quality service to internal and external customers and maintain strict confidentiality in all matters. · Complete training and testing (within 90 days from date of hire) to obtain and maintain state Property & Causality License (if not currently licensed). · Process personal line changes and endorsements. · Confer with customers and potential customers to obtain complete and accurate information to be used to prepare quotes. · Access carrier web sites to input, update client information. · Promptly and successfully complete all compliance training as determined by the compliance department. · Serve as point of contact for policy holders to obtain information regarding policies, beneficiaries, etc. · Receive and process customer payments. · Interview prospective customers to obtain data about their needs and review any existing coverage. · Assist group coverage clients in understanding and implementing employee group policies. · Communicate with existing policyholders to review changing needs and suggest changes in policies. Develop long term relationships with clients and underwriters. · Assist policyholder in the event of a claim. Monitor claims to ensure they are settled timely and equitably for both the client and company. · Attend department and company meetings/training which may be outside of regularly scheduled work hours. · Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Excellent customer service skills. · Ability to multi-task. • Must always be friendly and willing to provide assist others. • Ability to cope in a fast paced job environment. • He/she must be able to critically analyze all situations and solve problems efficiently. • Willingness to learn new skills and ability to adjust to changes quickly. · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Outlook. · Familiar in insurance terminology, conditions and general processes. Training and Experience: • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or currently pursuing preferred · Current P & C insurance license or become licensed within 6 months. · Current Life & Health insurance license or become licensed within 6 months.
