Position Overview

The Insurance Customer Service Representative plays a pivotal role in arenaflex’s commitment to delivering outstanding service to our valued policyholders. Working from a home office within our service territory, you will handle inbound and outbound customer interactions focused exclusively on Property & Casualty insurance products. Your day will involve answering coverage questions, providing accurate quotes, processing policy changes, explaining premium impacts, and resolving billing inquiries—all while delivering the warm, professional service that defines the arenaflex brand.

This position requires a licensed P&C professional who can balance technical insurance knowledge with genuine customer care. You will serve as the first point of contact for many of our members, making your role critical to customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction Excellence: Handle a steady flow of inbound and outbound calls, emails, and direct mail correspondence with existing policyholders, providing responsive, knowledgeable, and courteous service at every touchpoint.
  • Policy Review and Renewal Support: Proactively contact policyholders from our existing book of business to review their policies prior to renewal dates. Identify opportunities to enhance coverage, adjust limits, and better align policies with each customer’s evolving needs.
  • Coverage Consultation: Counsel customers on appropriate coverage levels, policy limits, payment options, and state-specific regulations. Make tailored recommendations that provide sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Quote Generation and Endorsements: Provide accurate quotes on policy endorsements and process change requests efficiently within our proprietary systems and partner insurance carriers.
  • Cross-Selling Opportunities: Recognize opportunities to cross-sell arenaflex membership products and additional insurance lines. Gather necessary information to provide quote options that meet customer needs.
  • Claims Assistance: Review policy details and reference company-specific claims procedures to guide insured members through the claims filing process with empathy and clarity.
  • Documentation Management: Process policy changes within our systems, submit changes to partner carriers, follow up to ensure timely processing, and manage all required documentation including signed forms and verification paperwork.
  • Billing and Account Support: Address billing inquiries, explain premium changes, identify applicable discounts, and act as a liaison between customers and insurance companies to facilitate seamless information exchange.
  • Discount Optimization: Identify opportunities to apply available discounts to customer policies, ensuring members receive the best value possible.
  • System Proficiency: Accurately document all customer interactions, policy changes, coverage recommendations, and cross-selling activities in our EPIC system to maintain comprehensive records.
  • Additional Duties: Take on other projects and responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

Work Schedule and Remote Requirements

This is a work-from-home opportunity; however, candidates must reside within arenaflex’s designated service territory. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, with rotating Saturday shifts required as part of the team schedule. Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CST. We believe in providing schedule predictability while ensuring our customers receive excellent service throughout the week.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of increasingly complex customer service experience within an insurance environment.
  • Licensing: Active Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance license is required at the time of application.
  • Membership Licensing: Membership license preferred; alternatively, the ability to obtain this license within 90 days of employment is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems, CRM platforms, and the ability to learn new software applications quickly. Experience with EPIC or similar insurance management systems is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for explaining complex insurance concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

  • Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Background in contact center or high-volume customer service settings.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, retention, or cross-selling roles within insurance.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of state-specific insurance regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
