Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking multiple experienced Software Engineers to support a variety of high‑impact teams located in Linthicum Heights, MD, with flexible hybrid/remote work options. The role is designed for professionals who thrive in fast‑paced environments, enjoy cross‑functional collaboration, and possess a Top‑Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph. You will develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems that range from processing‑intensive analytics to real‑time business management applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Build scalable, secure, and high‑performance software components based on documented requirements and system architecture.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system testing; document test results and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues across multiple platforms.
• Collaboration: Work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and support manuals.
• Technology Evaluation: Provide input on hardware/software trade‑offs, recommend COTS/GOTS solutions, and identify opportunities for software reuse.
• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for best practices in software development, DevOps automation, and agile methodologies.

User Interface (UI) Team – Single‑Page Applications

Data Pipeline Team – End‑to‑End Data Flow

• Primary: NiFi, PressureWave
• Secondary: Patch management, IAVA tracking, Bash scripting

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of professional software engineering experience on programs and contracts of comparable scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution – or four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph – a non‑negotiable requirement for all positions.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the primary skill areas listed above (e.g., Python/Django, Ansible, Angular, PySpark, NiFi).
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving, client‑focused environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience handling large data sets, real‑time processing, or algorithmic development.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

• Experience with Government Off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS) or Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) software integration.
• Familiarity with secure development lifecycle (SDL) practices and DoD security requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar.
