Senior Virtual Testing & Simulation Quality Assurance Engineer – Mechatronics, Sustainable Packaging & Robotics Innovation

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Intelligent Automation

At arenaflex, we are redefining how goods move, how warehouses think, and how packaging becomes smarter. Our mission is to blend cutting‑edge robotics, advanced mechatronics, and sustainable packaging solutions into a seamless, high‑performance fulfillment ecosystem. As a global leader in automated material handling, we partner with operations, supply‑chain, design, and engineering teams to deliver products that are not only fast and reliable but also environmentally responsible. If you thrive in an iterative, fast‑paced environment where every line of code, every simulation, and every test can directly impact millions of end‑users, you have found your next career home.

Why This Role Matters

The Virtual Testing & Simulation – MSP Quality Assurance position sits at the heart of arenaflex’s innovation engine. You will create and manage high‑fidelity virtual platforms that emulate real‑world hardware, software, and material interactions. By doing so, you enable product teams to validate concepts, stress‑test designs, and iterate rapidly—reducing time‑to‑market while ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end virtual testing environments that incorporate real automation software, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) setups, and material‑handling models.
  • Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to translate system‑level requirements into simulation scenarios that reflect real operational conditions.
  • Synchronize virtual and physical testing efforts with the QA Manual Testing and Requirements groups, ensuring consistency across all validation stages.
  • Partner with internal customers—including Operations, Robotics & Mechanical Engineering (RME), Advanced Control & Execution Systems (ACES), Process Engineering, and Worldwide Design—to capture feedback, refine quality standards, and guarantee that solutions meet operational needs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive simulation test plans that assess hardware automation, control algorithms, software applications, and packaging material compatibility.
  • Implement Design‑of‑Experiment (DoE) methodologies within virtual environments to explore multiple variables quickly and efficiently.
  • Automate test execution using scripting, test orchestration tools, and custom automation engines to accelerate validation cycles.
  • Identify, track, and resolve defects, performance bottlenecks, and recurring quality issues across product lines, providing actionable recommendations to engineering and product leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations, ensuring that all virtual testing activities adhere to safety, environmental, and data‑security standards.
  • Document and communicate test results, quality metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders through clear reports, dashboards, and presentations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience working with large, cross‑functional engineering teams on modeling, simulation, testing, integration, or quality‑assurance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fulfillment‑system technologies such as storage equipment, material‑handling systems, automated sortation, and related automation hardware.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of solving ambiguous, multi‑dimensional problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing senior engineers, product managers, and operational leaders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70 % of the time to business locations, project sites, and customer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with complex automated material‑handling equipment, high‑speed packaging technologies, and robotic systems.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with HIL testing frameworks, real‑time simulation platforms (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Gazebo, ROS), and test automation tools.
  • Project‑management experience, including the ability to initiate, plan, execute, and close projects with measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, C++, or Java for test automation and model development.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials, lifecycle analysis, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse, global teams and to build consensus among stakeholders with competing priorities.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Systems Thinking: Ability to view hardware, software, and material components as an integrated whole and anticipate interactions.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to data integrity, test configuration, and documentation.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Skilled at building relationships, facilitating workshops, and driving consensus across engineering, operations, and supply‑chain groups.
  • Innovation Mindset: Eagerness to explore emerging simulation technologies, AI‑driven analytics, and virtual‑reality testing methods.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, ambiguous requirements, and rapid iteration cycles.
