Role Overview

As a senior member of the Data Engineering team, you will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, process, and surface survey data from more than 20 countries and 10 languages. You will partner closely with business analysts, product managers, and agile delivery squads to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Your work will enable real‑time analytics, advanced reporting, and predictive modeling that drive better customer experiences across arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Modeling: Design and implement end‑to‑end data models that support VOC analytics, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with data governance standards.
• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Hive, and Python to ingest survey responses, metadata, and related transactional data.
• Real‑Time & Batch Processing: Enable both batch and streaming analytics, delivering near‑real‑time insights to business stakeholders through dashboards and APIs.
• Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with product owners, business analysts, and agile squads to gather requirements, refine user stories, and deliver incremental value every sprint.
• Data Quality & Testing: Develop automated testing frameworks, data validation rules, and monitoring alerts to guarantee data accuracy and integrity across all environments.
• Performance Optimization: Tune Hadoop clusters, Spark jobs, and Hive queries for optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear technical documentation, data dictionaries, and best‑practice guides; mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Innovation & Automation: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and introduce emerging technologies that enhance the VOC platform.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure all data handling complies with GDPR, CCPA, and internal security policies, safeguarding customer privacy at every step.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with big‑data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, and Python (PySpark).
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Oozie).
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, relational and NoSQL databases, and data warehousing principles.
• Demonstrated experience building production‑grade data pipelines that handle high‑volume, multi‑language survey data.
• Solid grasp of Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, with a track record of delivering incremental value in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑first mindset and a passion for turning raw data into actionable insights.
