Veterinary Assistant General Practice

About the position VCA Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center is seeking an overnight Veterinary Assistant to join their emergency & critical care teams. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Technician looking for a challenge and opportunities for growth. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will use your existing knowledge, develop new skills, and collaborate with a team of professionals in a 24/7/365 hybrid hospital environment that supports both general practice and specialty services (cardiology, surgery, oncology, internal medicine). The hospital is located in Westchester County, offering proximity to Manhattan and Greenwich, CT, as well as local beaches. The leadership team is dedicated to employee success and well-being, organizing events like masseuse days and team-building activities, with a special celebration for vet tech week including contests and catered meals.

Responsibilities

• Collecting patient histories & physical exams
• Medication refills, and pet parent communication
• Proficient in medical calculations
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients

Requirements

• 2 – 5 yrs of experience
• Candidates must be positive and motivated.
• Have the determination to rise above obstacles, wear multiple hats and work as a team.
