We are currently hiring a dedicated Remote Health Advocate – Medicare Outreach & Member Engagement to join our dynamic Healthy Outcomes Team. This is a full-time, work-from-home opportunity based in California, offering a competitive hourly wage of $70–$80 per year (base compensation varies by experience and qualifications), along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and professional growth.

Position Summary

As a Health Advocate at arenaflex, you will serve as a vital point of contact for our Medicare members, reaching out through digital and telephonic channels to encourage healthy behaviors, promote preventive care, and ensure members fully understand the benefits available to them under their Federal Medicare plan. Your role is centered on building trusting relationships, addressing barriers to care, and connecting members with the right resources at the right time.

You will play a critical role in supporting Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality initiatives by performing outreach that drives members to complete important screenings, vaccinations, and medication refills. Through motivational interviewing, empathetic communication, and proactive problem-solving, you will help close gaps in care and improve Star health outcomes for our diverse member population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inbound and outbound calls to Medicare members who may benefit from designated healthcare services, including preventive screenings, immunizations, and medication refills.
  • Effectively capture barriers to care, collect relevant data, and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to provide solutions that help close gaps in care.
  • Deliver best-in-class support to every member, treating each individual with professionalism, respect, and empathy.
  • Act as a liaison between members, healthcare providers, and pharmacies to coordinate seamless care.
  • Actively listen and accurately document member-reported information in the CRM system to support HEDIS clinical record documentation.
  • Provide members with timely, accurate information to help them make informed decisions about their health and healthcare.
  • Engage, consult with, and educate members based on their unique needs, preferences, and understanding of available services.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the member experience, serving as a single point of contact and resolving issues promptly.
  • Build trusting relationships with members by taking the time to understand their needs fully.
  • Walk members through arenaflex programs, tools, and resources designed to support healthy behaviors.
  • Track and report all member contacts, events, and outcomes through appropriate systems and processes.
  • Use professional communication skills to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize relevant system tools and resources to produce quality business communications, including letters and spreadsheets, in response to member inquiries.
  • Handle multiple functions and products simultaneously while maintaining or exceeding performance standards.
  • Identify issues that require escalation and provide suggestions for resolution.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and represent arenaflex positively in all member and constituent interactions.
  • Support individual, team, and business goals and initiatives, taking ownership of personal results.

Additional Capabilities and Expectations

  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications and the ability to use standard corporate software packages with a high level of computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills, with prior experience speaking with clinical providers and clinical staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Recent and related experience working with HEDIS screening measures and behavior change initiatives.
  • Related experience working directly with members or consumers, preferably in a call center environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent and related experience within healthcare, healthcare marketing, outreach, health education, health coaching, or disease management.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a healthcare setting with direct communication with various levels of management, including clinical providers.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Clinical certification (such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or similar) is highly recommended but not required.
