Sales Engineer
Ryerson is a leading provider of industrial metal products and services, committed to excellence and best-in-class customer service. The Sales Engineer will engage with customers, conduct technical sales briefings, and tailor product solutions based on customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and qualify customer-provided documents such as prints, CAD files, and specifications
- Full understanding of tolerances, materials, specifications, and processing options that will guide a robust metal supply chain creation
- Manage part specific supply chains by utilizing internal and external processing assets to meet customer quality and delivery requirements
- Estimate material, labor, and delivery options on a part-level basis and develop contract pricing templates based on awarded work
- Evaluating sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization’s quality standards
- Conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer-specific prices

Skills
- Bachelor's degree required (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience in the metals or manufacturing industry
- 1 plus year of sales experience, preferred in the metal or manufacturing industry
- Print reading required. CAD or drafting experience a plus
- MS Office software skills required, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with clear and effective communication abilities
- Experience with SAP is highly preferred
