Machine Learning Engineer

BMW Group is an independent group of companies committed to creativity and innovation in the automotive industry. They are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to explore AI-driven solutions, develop prototypes, and collaborate on enhancing BMW's in-vehicle and mobility experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and specify innovative AI-driven solutions, focusing on cutting-edge technologies like Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models
  • Develop prototypes, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and new functionalities to demonstrate feasibility and value of AI applications
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to research, design, and evaluate novel AI solutions enhancing BMW's in-vehicle and mobility experience
  • Contribute to securing fundamental Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) relevant to future BMW products and services
  • Share insights and findings within the international research community to shape BMW’s global AI strategy and influence future research directions
  • Scout emerging technologies and integrate advanced AI techniques into prototype systems and future system architectures
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing valuable insights, enabling understanding of AI technologies, and influencing R&D and Centers of Competence (CoCs)

Skills

  • Master's degree in electronics, computer science or related field
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to AI, Machine Learning and Application Development (e.g. Python, PyTorch / TensorFlow, LangChain, LangFlow, Kotlin or similar)
  • Confident in presenting and defending technical solutions to internal and external teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to abstract and break down complex problems in manageable portions
  • Experience in building and running Cloud Applications (MLOps)
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience in the tech industry or a related field
