Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a multi‑year roadmap for adversarial abuse detection and mitigation, aligning with arenaflex’s broader Trust & Safety objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead a global, 24‑hour operation consisting of abuse analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product partners. Recruit, mentor, and develop top talent across diverse locations.
  • Risk Identification & Response: Oversee the identification of emerging threats such as account takeover, spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and AI‑generated abuse. Ensure rapid, coordinated response across product, policy, and engineering teams.
  • Analytics & Insight Generation: Drive the creation of robust analytics pipelines, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that surface actionable insights for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, and Global Operations to design and launch tools, policies, and processes that proactively curb abuse.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for abuse detection accuracy, response time, and false‑positive rates. Continuously improve operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Produce transparent, data‑driven reports for internal teams, regulators, and the public, highlighting trends, mitigation strategies, and impact.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, deepfakes) and incorporate cutting‑edge research into arenaflex’s defense mechanisms.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage for critical incidents, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading risk‑focused teams that combat large‑scale abuse, fraud, or misinformation.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling data‑driven solutions for detection and mitigation of malicious activity.
  • Hands‑on experience with data pipelines, statistical analysis, and machine‑learning model development (SQL, R, Python, or MATLAB).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data insights into strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of building relationships with senior leaders across product, engineering, policy, and legal.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment, managing ambiguity while delivering measurable results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • 5+ years of experience in large‑scale abuse detection, fraud prevention, or security analytics within a technology or media company.
  • Experience with large‑scale data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark) and modern analytics stacks.
  • Background in adversarial machine learning, deep‑learning based content moderation, or related research.
  • Prior exposure to regulatory compliance frameworks and public reporting requirements.
  • Fluency in multiple languages or experience working with international teams is a plus.
