As a Remote Entry‑Level Data Entry & Typing Specialist, you will be the guardian of this critical information, helping staff, faculty, and stakeholders make data‑driven decisions that enhance the learning experience for thousands of adult learners.

Key Responsibilities

Core Data Management Duties

  • Manage multiple databases to guarantee precise record‑keeping and systematic data organization.
  • Enter required grant data accurately into the National Reporting System (NRS) to meet monthly, quarterly, and year‑end deadlines.
  • Perform regular error checks and data clean‑up in NRS, ensuring reporting integrity and compliance.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures for attendance and assessment data, adhering to FERPA standards.
  • Ensure data is accessible in a timely manner to staff and other stakeholders, supporting rapid decision‑making.

Administrative and Support Functions

  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet all local, state, and program deadlines, demonstrating strong time‑management skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, including pre‑ and post‑testing with state‑mandated assessments.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development sessions to stay current with best practices.
  • Scan documents, label items, and maintain a well‑structured digital filing system.
  • Conduct inventory checks of supplies, ensuring the office remains fully stocked and operational.
  • Perform basic word processing, prepare mailings, and assist with filing as needed.
  • Take on additional assignments that contribute to the overall efficiency of the Adult Education office.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices, MS Office Suite, and especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Accuracy & Speed: Ability to perform office work quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively, even under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey detailed instructions clearly.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supporting a collaborative remote environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities without compromising quality.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with data entry in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Familiarity with grant reporting processes and compliance requirements.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

The role is fully remote, but candidates must be able to:

  • Communicate effectively through spoken word, including delivering clear instructions to teammates.

  • Spend extended periods sitting and working at a computer workstation.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds, such as boxes of supplies or equipment.
