As we expand our remote workforce, we are looking for bright, analytical minds to join our Pricing & Revenue Management (PRM) team and help shape the next generation of airline economics.

Position Overview – Associate Data Scientist (Remote)

As an Associate Data Scientist on the PRM team, you will blend statistical research, machine learning, and product thinking to solve high‑impact business problems. You will work closely with pricing analysts, revenue managers, product owners, and engineering partners to design, build, and deploy models that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency. This role offers a direct line of sight to the results of your work, a collaborative environment that encourages innovative thinking, and the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while staying connected to our Denver headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development & Deployment: Design, implement, and communicate advanced quantitative analyses and predictive models using statistical research, machine learning, and product management techniques to influence pricing and revenue decisions.
  • Data Engineering: Apply data‑wrangling and pipeline‑building skills to clean raw data, create robust data streams, and ensure models run reliably in production environments.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with pricing, revenue, product, and engineering teams to deeply understand business problems, refine existing models, and develop new analytical solutions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and model outcomes to senior leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations.
  • Programming & Code Quality: Write production‑grade code in Python, SQL, or other relevant languages; maintain coding standards, participate in code reviews, and document workflows, models, and scripts.
  • Experimentation & Insight Generation: Formulate hypotheses, run experiments, and interpret results to uncover actionable insights and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Coach junior analysts and collaborate with peers to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear documentation of analytical processes, model assumptions, and performance metrics for auditability and future reference.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience applying statistical analysis or machine‑learning techniques to real‑world problems.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with R or other analytical languages is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with data manipulation, exploratory analysis, and building predictive models (e.g., regression, classification, time‑series forecasting).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to translate business questions into data‑driven solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
  • Experience in airline pricing, revenue management, or a related transportation industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to big‑data tools (Spark, Hadoop) and modern data‑pipeline frameworks (Airflow, dbt).
  • Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and experimental design.
  • Prior involvement in end‑to‑end model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Statistical & Machine‑Learning Expertise: Ability to select appropriate algorithms, tune hyper‑parameters, and evaluate model performance.
  • Data Engineering Acumen: Skill in building scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and handling large datasets.
  • Product Mindset: Understanding of how analytical solutions translate into product features and business impact.
  • Problem‑Solving Orientation: Proactive in identifying gaps, proposing innovative approaches, and iterating quickly.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Comfortable partnering with diverse stakeholders and influencing decisions through data‑driven storytelling.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and new challenges emerge regularly.
