The company provides tools, training, and ongoing support to help agents grow sustainable, client-centered practices. Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Medicare Agent. The Medicare Agent will consult with individuals eligible for Medicare to understand their healthcare and financial needs, and recommend suitable Medicare Advantage, Supplement, and Part D plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling and conducting virtual or phone consultations, explaining plan benefits and enrollment options, and guiding clients through the application and enrollment process. The role also involves maintaining accurate client records, following up with existing clients during key enrollment periods, and staying current on Medicare regulations, carrier products, and compliance requirements. The Medicare Agent will leverage Advocate Health Advisors’ tools, training, and support resources while building long-term, trust-based relationships with clients and community partners.
Qualifications
- Current state health insurance license (or ability to obtain one) and authorization to sell Medicare products; AHIP and carrier certifications are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in explaining Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Part D plans in clear, accessible language, with a strong focus on ethical, compliant sales practices.
- Strong client service and relationship-building skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to support diverse populations, including Veterans and older adults.
- Comfort with remote work tools and technology, such as CRM systems, video conferencing, secure document handling, and electronic enrollment platforms.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present plan options, answer detailed questions, and document client interactions accurately.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage appointments, follow-ups, and enrollment deadlines in a part-time, self-directed environment.
- Sales or consultative experience in insurance, financial services, or healthcare is beneficial; experience with Medicare or senior markets is a plus.
- Commitment to integrity, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development, including staying updated on Medicare rules and plan changes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant professional training is a plus.
