Senior iOS Developer (Swift)- US Only (no agencies)

Job Objective We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to join an existing project where we have end-to-end ownership of both backend and mobile features. This is not a typical CRUD application. The role requires strong expertise in native Swift development, concurrency/thread safety, real-time networking, and working closely with AWS serverless backends. You will be working on an existing codebase with significant technical debt and will be expected to troubleshoot, enhance, and explain complex code changes to stakeholders.

Requirements

Extensive experience with native iOS development using Swift Strong understanding of Swift concurrency, thread safety, race conditions, GCD, and async/await Experience debugging complex production issues in large codebases Strong networking architecture experience (REST APIs, WebSockets, offline sync, retries, background processing) Experience integrating mobile applications with AWS-based backend services Working knowledge of AWS Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and serverless architectures Ability to understand and troubleshoot backend workflows written in Node.js Experience working with PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL databases Experience working in existing/legacy codebases with significant technical debt Experience building real-time calling features in iOS apps using WebRTC, including both one-to-one calls and group calling functionality. Ability to perform root-cause analysis and explain technical changes to stakeholders Comfortable taking ownership of features from mobile client through backend services and database layers Technology Stack Native iOS (Swift) AWS Lambda (Node.js 24) Aurora PostgreSQL S3 Serverless Framework Note: Experience with agentic AI development tools (especially Claude) is strongly preferred; candidates must be willing to quickly adopt AI-assisted development workflows.
