What We Look For In a SSAT Tutor
- Advanced Test Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of SSAT sections and question types, test format, timing strategies, and scoring systems. Ability to explain content areas, question patterns, common traps, and optimal approaches while preparing students for score improvement and test-day success through systematic practice and strategy development.
- Strategic Test-Taking & Content Skills: Skilled at breaking down complex test questions and teaching efficient solution methods. Guides students through time management, process of elimination, strategic guessing, content review, and practice test analysis. Emphasizes score optimization techniques and connects test strategies to student goals and target score requirements.
- Test Strategy & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with SSAT structure, common student challenges, and score improvement methods. Adapts instruction using official practice materials, diagnostic assessments, and personalized study plans to address individual weaknesses. Requires minimum SSAT score of 2100 and proven track record of helping students achieve significant score gains.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
