Talent Agent / Sponsorship Manager for Sports Podcast (Commission-Based | Close Brand Deals) - Contract to Hire

We are building A Star Struck Podcast, hosted by Carlos Knox - fast-growing platform at the intersection of:

  • Sports
  • Athlete storytelling
  • Mental health & mindset

We go beyond highlight reels and focus on real stories - adversity, growth, and what it takes to push through life’s toughest moments. We are now focused on turning momentum into consistent revenue and long-term brand partnerships. What We’re Looking For We are hiring 2–3 experienced Talent Agents / Sponsorship Managers who can: Land 10+ paying sponsors ($500+ minimum deals) Build a repeatable outreach + revenue system Secure paid partnerships (not just free product)

Compensation

  • Commission-based only (15%–20% per deal closed)
  • Bonuses for:
  • Multi-month partnerships (60–90 days)
  • Retainer/recurring sponsors

Key Responsibilities 1. Sponsorship Outreach & Sales (Primary Focus)

  • Pitch the podcast to brands and sponsors
  • Identify and reach out to:
  • Local businesses (Notre Dame / sports communities)
  • Mental health brands
  • Lifestyle & wellness companies
  • Send cold + warm outreach emails and DMs
  • Follow up consistently to move deals forward

2. Deal Closing & Negotiation

  • Secure paid partnerships (not product-only deals)
  • Negotiate:
  • Pricing
  • Deliverables (podcast mentions, social content, etc.)
  • Partnership length (goal: 60–90 days)
  • Turn one-off deals into recurring contract.

3. Partnership Strategy & Brand Alignment

  • Identify brands that align with our message:
  • Inspirational
  • Athlete-driven
  • Mental health focused
  • Build long-term partnerships, not one-offs
  • Position the podcast as a premium storytelling platform

4. Lead Tracking & Pipeline Management

  • Track:
  • Outreach
  • Follow-ups
  • Conversations
  • Closed deals
  • Help build a repeatable system for consistent revenue

What Success Looks Like (First 30–60 Days)

  • Close 7-10 paid sponsorships
  • Build an active outreach pipeline
  • Show consistent follow-up and deal progression

60–90 Days Goal

  • Contribute to landing 20 total sponsors ($500+ each)
  • Establish 2–3 recurring brand partnerships

Ideal Candidate

  • A closer (not just someone who sends messages)
  • Comfortable with sales, outreach, and negotiation
  • A strong communicator (email, DM, or phone)
  • Self-motivated and results-drive

You have experience in:

  • Sponsorship sales
  • Influencer marketing
  • Brand partnerships
  • OR working with podcasts / sports brands

Bonus if you:

  • Understand sports culture + storytelling + mental health space
  • Have worked with local or community-based businesses
  • Already have brand or business connection
