[Remote] Accounting Generalist (TEMP) - The Langham, Pasadena
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Langham Hospitality Group is a subsidiary of Great Eagle Holdings with a global presence in the hospitality sector. They are seeking an Accounting Generalist to assist in handling guest inquiries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting month-end processes within the accounting department.
Responsibilities
- Handle guest calls and inquiries, research charge back and respond in a timely manner to avoid loss in revenue
- Assist General Cashier in opening cash envelopes and conducting house bank audits if necessary
- Responsible for maintaining and updating contracts, permits and licenses log on regular basis
- Review contract, permits and license file regularly and advise Director of Finance, Hotel Controller, department head related to any expiring contracts, permits and licenses with sufficient time before expiration
- Assist Accounts Payable in posting when necessary
- Assists Accounts Receivables Manager in some billing if necessary
- Research charge back and respond in a timely manner to avoid loss in revenue
- Assists and conduct month end inventories as requested by purchasing manager
- Assists Hotel Controller and Accounting Manager during month end close
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance, Hotel Controller and Accounting Manager
Skills
- High School degree or GED
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- Ability to operate a 10-key by touch
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Effective Communication skills both oral and written
- Degree in Accounting
- Previous experience and knowledge of OPERA
- Previous knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable
- 1-2 years experience in hotel accounting
