rePLANET Project Development Director - LATAM

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Location: Colombia (preferred) or flexible across Latin America with extensive regional travel

About rePLANET

rePLANET is a developer and long-term owner of high-integrity, nature-based carbon projects. Our diversified portfolio spans reforestation, regenerative agriculture and the restoration of sustainable mangrove ecosystems and fisheries.

All rePLANET projects are targeted to achieve BBB–AA ratings - the most valuable tier of carbon credits - enabled by our proprietary triple-action approach. These credits deliver measurable impact across nature-positive, people-positive, and food-positive outcomes.

About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Project Development Director to lead the end-to-end development of projects across Latin America. This is a leadership role requiring independent ownership of a diverse project portfolio, with accountability for driving projects from inception through to operational deployment.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, engaging directly with senior internal and external stakeholders, including executives, partners, investors, and government representatives. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong execution mindset, capable of navigating complexity while delivering commercially and scientifically robust outcomes.

You will have direct experience of driving large-scale infrastructure projects, attracting investments of $20 million+

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently lead the full lifecycle development of projects, from origination and feasibility through to execution and operational handover
  • Take full ownership of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery against strategic, commercial, and technical objectives
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, investors, government bodies, and strategic partners
  • Balance commercial priorities with scientific, environmental, and technical dependencies in project design and delivery
  • Drive decision-making, project governance, and escalation processes at a senior level
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and risks with minimal oversight
  • Represent the organization in high-level negotiations, partnerships, and regional engagements

Candidate Profile

  • Fluent Spanish speaker (required)
  • Extensive experience developing projects independently from inception to operational deployment
  • Background in project development within carbon-led reforestation or renewable energy sectors
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently with minimal supervision
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to integrate scientific and technical considerations into decision-making
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
  • Highly developed project management capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable operating in a senior, autonomous role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of government policy related to carbon projects and the ability to adapt to regulatory changes

Location & Travel

  • Ideally based in Colombia, or willing to relocate
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Latin America to lead project development and maintain senior stakeholder relationships

Why Join Us? This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and deliver high-impact sustainability projects across Latin America. You will play a key role in driving strategic growth, building partnerships, and delivering projects that sit at the intersection of commercial success and environmental impact.

How to Apply Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
