Senior Full Stack Engineer

The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned Fullstack PHP Developer to join our team bringing conceptual solutions to life in a mature Agile/DevOps environment with a focus on prioritisation, risk management, and scope.

Reporting to the CTO, and working within the technology team, you will play a hands-on role in developing new functionality, delivering high-quality engineering work, and ensuring that product are releases aligned with the company's commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Building performant, scalable, and sustainable backend application architecture and software.
• Working within defined project management guidelines and security best practices.
• Contributing technology inputs to product team and roadmap discussions.
• Championing the delivery of scalable, robust, engineering-best-in-breed, commercially viable technology outcomes.
• Building technical integrations with third-party vendors.
• Supporting critical technology incidents as needed.
• Working on technology architecture, scalability, security, and performance initiatives.

Attributes

As the successful candidate, you will bring and leverage the following expertise and experience:

• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong track record of delivering robust, scalable applications.
• Proven experience contributing to or leading large-scale, complex projects, with a focus on high-performance and maintainable codebases.
• Solid understanding and practical application of software design patterns, with demonstrated experience in system architecture and solution design.
• Experience working in Agile teams with a high degree of collaboration, self-starter mindset.
• Experience with SaaS would be preferred.
• Proficiency in software development, software architecture, APIs.
• Full-stack development experience with PHP and related frameworks (preferably CodeIgniter, but any equivalent MVC framework like Laravel, Symfony would be sufficient), as well as familiarity with JavaScript and related frameworks such as Vue.js
• Experience with testing frameworks (eg. PHPUnit, Codeception, Selenium)
• Working experience with HTML/CSS frameworks (Bootstrap experience would be a plus)
• Experience with build, deployment, and release automation in a DevOps environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure.
• Working proficiency with relational databases (MySQL), including indexing, stored procedures, etc
• Knowledge and application of secure development practices
• Ideally, some exposure to medical software integrations (HL7, Mirth Connect)
