Shopify is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Remote Chat Support Agent to join our dynamic global support team. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via live chat, delivering clear and professional solutions.
  • Troubleshoot technical and account-related issues with Shopify’s platform and tools.
  • Escalate complex cases to higher-tier support or relevant teams while maintaining ownership of customer satisfaction.
  • Document customer interactions accurately and comprehensively in the support system.
  • Identify trends in customer inquiries to proactively improve support processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Shopify products, policies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and training sessions to enhance overall support quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms and online business operations.
  • Ability to remain patient and empathetic in challenging customer interactions.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with chat support tools or customer service software is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years in customer support, preferably in chat or remote support roles.
  • Prior experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or technology support is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Flexible remote schedule; availability during core business hours is required.
  • Ability to work weekends or evenings based on rotational shifts may be necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with CRM tools and online communication platforms.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple chat conversations efficiently.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in communication and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
