Information System Security Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton is a leading consulting firm, and they are seeking an Information System Security Engineer to assist with designing, implementing, and managing security policies and procedures. The role involves working independently with some guidance and reviewing activities of junior employees while applying industry knowledge to solve moderate scope problems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures to ensure database and software security
  • Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge
  • Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Work independently with some guidance
  • Review or guide the activities of junior employees

Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in an ISSE, ISSO, or IT role
  • Experience with DoD architecture, strategic planning, concept of operations, performance attributes, system architecture and design, evolving methodologies, and statutory or regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems such as Splunk, Elastic, Logstash, or Kibana
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and technologies, including IDS and IPS, firewalls, host-based security, or Identity and Access Management (IDAM), and DevSecOps tools and practices such as CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 Level II Certification
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) integration
  • Experience designing scenario-based or hands-on lab training
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Instructional Design Certification such as CompTIA CTT+, ATD Master Trainer, or ADDIE Certification
