Job Summary

As an External Support Engineer at blithequark, you will serve as the primary point of contact for external content creation teams, providing technical support, guidance, and training on our content tools and workflows. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between these teams and our internal tools engineering team, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve tools and processes, driving efficiency and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical support to content/external teams in regards to use of content tools, including troubleshooting and resolving issues

  • Create reference materials and provide training to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, ensuring seamless adoption and utilization
  • Solve and debug possible issues with tools and workflows to quickly resolve issues for users, escalating complex or problematic issues to the tool development team as needed
  • Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, driving innovation and continuous improvement
  • Partner with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Guide or lead cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, ensuring that stakeholder needs are met and expectations are exceeded
  • Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude in all interactions

Skills and Abilities

* Ability to read and understand C# code, with a strong foundation in software development principles and practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with external partners and stakeholders
  • Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution
  • Self-motivating, with a strong sense of accountability and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices
  • Unity 3D game and tool development experience, with a strong foundation in game development principles and practices
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, with a strong understanding of agile development methodologies and practices
  • iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a strong foundation in mobile app development principles and practices
  • 5 years' experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment, with a strong track record of success and a commitment to excellence

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Our core hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm CST, which means you should be available for meetings and other work-related activities during this time. We understand that flexibility is essential in today's fast-paced work environment, and we are open to discussing flexible work arrangements that meet your needs and the needs of the team.

Salary and Benefits

At blithequark, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your personal top of market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall market range for roles in this area of blithequark is typically $150,000 - $325,000. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
